Baby Garrett is a...........

GIRL!!!

On Friday, we had our routine monthly doctors appointment. I didn't even expect to get an ultrasound, but the Dr decided to take a quick peek to see if we could determine the sex. The baby cooperated right away and we are proud to announce that we will be having a baby girl! We really were convinced that this baby would be a boy so we had a boy name picked out already, but hadn't really explored girl names. We will have to start thinking about it! The rest of the visit went well and the baby is looking good which we are so thankful for.

On another note we survived hurricane IKE last week. Things are still in disarray here in Houston, but we are slowly getting back to normal. Bryan and I stayed during the storm, making it my first official hurricane. It rolled through around 3am last Saturday and boy was it loud! My sister Karen came over to stay with us and needless to say we all ended up sleeping in the hallway. Our house faired pretty well, but many others were not so lucky. Driving around we saw many trees down, windows broken, houses/cars badly damaged, billboards that had collapsed, etc. It took 6 days to get power back, but thing seem to be up and running again, (at least at our house). The grocery stores and gas stations are barely stocked and thousands in the area are still without power.

Anyway, that is about it for now. We will continue to keep you updated :-) I need to take some pictures of my growing physique soon and post them for you. My belly is really starting to pop out!
