Thanksgiving 2007

We just got back from College Station Friday night. We enjoyed a relaxing weekend with the Garrett's and ate WAY too much food. On Wednesday, I was able to get away from work by noon so we got on the road pretty early. My sister and brother in law, Kim and Chris, were also in town visiting with their two kids, Tanner and Addison.

We had lots of fun playing with the kids.
Here is one of Tanner in the back yard

This is one of me and my new niece Addison, who is now 6 weeks old.

On Wednesday night we enjoyed watching the Aggies beat Washington on TV......Whoop!

Thursday morning we all helped prepare dinner, and Bryan and his Dad had their annual Bean snapping contest. For those of you that have no idea what a bean snapping contest is....it is a game that Bryan and his Dad have played for years. The point of the game is to see who can snap the most beans the fastest as we prepare dinner.

When Kim and Chris were married in 2000, Chris took it upon himself to make very specific rules and is now the honorary judge of the contest. The contest was fierce this year, but due to cheating on both sides, the judge deemed disqualification and there was no official winner :-(

After all of the preparation, we had a great Thanksgiving dinner.

It was our nephew, Tanner's, first time to eat in the fancy dining room. He did a very good job!

Then, on Friday, Bryan and I did a little shopping and then it was off to watch the Aggies take on the Longhorns. It was a great game to say the least. Final score A&M 38 and Texas 30

We got to meet a couple of semi-famous former Aggies before the game.....

Here is my brother in law, Chris, with former Aggie Defensive back, Melvin Bullit. He now plays for the Indianapolis Colts.

.....And PS only Chris would have picked him out in a crowd :-)

We also got to see Rick Perry, governor of Texas, and former Aggie grad.

We even saw Lance Berkman (from the Astros Baseball team) in the stands a few rows back from us, but we didnt get a picture :-(

Anyway here are the celebration pics after the win!!!
